Shelter House is seeking a permanent full time Development Officer. This exciting role will primarily focus on seeking donations and grants to sustain the work of Shelter House. The incumbent will be expected to foster relationships with existing donors and cultivate new donors through innovative approaches and strategies. Strong writing skills will also be used to develop media advisories and releases.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Post-secondary education or related experience preferably in fundraising, public relations or office administration.
- Minimum 1 year related work experience and/or a combination of education, experience, and training.
- Knowledge of the non-profit sector, charitable giving, and experience with grant proposal writing.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster community relations.
Salary for this position is $42,183.18 + SSQ Benefit Package and an optional 3% RRSP Matching Program.
