Not just an event...What an experience!
Want to be a team captain! Registration and information session will be held on Tuesday, February 28th in the dining room of Rotary Shelter House 5:00 pm. A light lunch will be served. Come out and see what's new for this year, reserve a site or cabin, choose your own t shirt color. The RELAY FOR SHELTER is not only a fundraiser; it's also a lot fun. The RELAY FOR SHELTER welcomes participants of all ages....you do not have to be a runner or even be athletic, just be ready for some hours of wacky activities, friendly competition and good, clean fun.
With a captain leading the way, teams of any number of colleagues, family and friends sign up and fundraise. Registration fee is $20.00 per (adult) and (children 18 & under) $15.00 which includes t-shirt, picnic lunch, beef on bun, along with entry to the days events. We ask each (adult) participant to raise $125.00 and children under 18 are encouraged to raise $100.00. Teams can hold car washes, BBQS, chili cook-off, 50/50 draws and other creative fundraising events, and all pledges of $10.00 or more are tax receipted. Teams can be made up of anyone who likes to have fun and who will help raise much needed $$$ & awareness about Shelter House.
Then on June 2nd, 2012 at Chippewa Park we're going to celebrate your efforts from 9:00 am to closing ceremonies starting at 7:00 pm with the best funfest picnic you will ever be a part of, featuring team games, sporting events, entertainment, awards, bonfire and more....
So grab your craziest co-workers, relatives and friends, elect two members to be Captain and Co-Captain and start fundraising in support of the operations of Shelter House! Deposit your money by June1st at any TD Canada Trust Bank, Note: All pledge forms are to be handed in to Rotary Shelter House - set up is Friday, June 1st at noon or Saturday morning the day of the event for your team tent or cabin site at Chippewa Park and let us throw a huge Picnic in your honour! At the end of the day you go home to sleep with a smile on your face 'cause not only have you just had a wicked good time but in the process you've helped the men, women, youth & families that use our services in our community.
Remember the time and spirit you give us not only ensures that everyone involved has fun, safe and a memorable RELAY FOR SHELTER, but also helps us with our mission.
Note: Team members are not required to stay on site throughout the day, but everyone will be having so much fun they won't want to leave. There will be a bonfire (tentative) after the awards presentation and closing ceremonies beginning at 7:00 pm on Saturday.
