team captain responsibilities

The success of the RELAY FOR SHELTER depends upon people forming and registering teams. Teams typically have 6 +++ members, one of who will be the designated team captain, acting as the contact person for their team.

Team captains should be able to attend two RELAY FOR SHELTER meetings in the months leading up to the event, or have someone else from their team attend.  The purpose of these meetings will be for teams to register, choose their t shirt color,  (click here to find your color)  as there is one color available per team, sign up for events and to let everyone know what fundraising events will be happening in the ensuing months. A team captain meeting and information session will be held Tuesday, February 28th in the Rotary Shelter House Dining Room at 5:00 p.m. and the final meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, 2012 (tentative).  Waiver Forms, Registration Fee, Cabin rentals to be handed at the last team captains meeting.  All Pledge monies from each member (to be deposited at any TD Canada Trust Bank by June 1st, 2012) Note:  All pledge forms are to be handed in to Rotary Shelter House

  • Organize the team members for the days activities ie. sporting / picnic games
  • Decide if your team would like a tent site (tents are located in the Shelter Village at no charge for a tent site only) or to reserve a cabin site (please call Margaret at 623-8182 ext 230.

If you would like to register a team, or if you are a individual  who would like to be matched with a team, please come out to one of the meetings or fax your registration form to 622-6328.
