YOW'S Services
Outreach is intended to reduce risk factors such as marginalization, lack of school engagement, anti-social peer group associations, low community attachment, lack of positive relationships with supportive adults, community isolation and the lack of services for you. Outreach activities occur in high priority communities and neighbourhoods with a focus on referral services for at-risk youth and their families including necessary support and encouragement.
Outreach involves coordinated activities that motivate at-risk youth and their families to make positive life choices including:
- Receiving and sharing information about their interests, concerns and needs
- Providing relevant information
- Guiding, mentoring and facilitating access to programs and services
- Enabling positive community participation
