Donate to the Christmas Campaign
Support the local programs and services that help individuals and families living in poverty in Thunder Bay by donating to the 2020 Christmas Gift of Warmth campaign. Every donation made to this campaign helps to ensure everyone has access to basic needs and dignity, and is supported in their transition to successful independent living.

'Tis the season of giving, and what better way to celebrate than by sharing the joy of helping to fulfill someone's Christmas Wish List. Help us to make Christmas a little more cheerful for our Kwae Kii Win residents, who's family connections may have been broken, lost or simply forgotten. We provide our residents with a supportive living environment that not only provides them with safety and security, but with a sense of belonging.
24 Days of Giving
With many requests from the community, we will be bringing back the reverse advent calendar again this year. You can take part in this tradition as an individual, with coworkers, friends, or as a family. Every day in December add an item to the box, and on Christmas Eve (or any day in December) donate the full box to Shelter House. This year the box has taken on a different approach, and safe drop-off can be arranged for your comfort.
Our need for kitchen volunteers is greater than ever. With the harsh winter months coming up, our staff will be spending a great deal of time ensuring everyone has warm winter items to keep them warm, and won't have as much time to spend in the kitchen. If you and your immediate family/friends would like to come down to volunteer in our kitchen (groups of 3-4 individuals), we will welcome you with a safe 6-foot air hug. Help us to keep providing two hot meals to community members in need.
